Who doesn’t love a makeover! It’s not every day that a brand gets the chance to undergo a complete packaging refresh. The Colorproof team jumped at the opportunity to finally make the packaging match the outstanding performance of the formulas inside.
We had so much to consider from color palettes, bottle shape, custom vs. stock molds, iconography and finishes. The possibilities were endless. Colorproof’s Art Director led the charge, creating a vision that united the team’s desire for a sophisticated, functional design that sparks joy at every touchpoint. Think about when you approach a bottle on shelf. What do you notice first? Chances are it’s the color, followed by the shape, the iconography and the finishes. CP carefully considered each element to create a package that delivers the ultimate shopping experience. No detail was overlooked.
1. Color
While black and white packaging is typically clean and classic; however, Colorproof is for the colorful. We embrace all colors and the connections that color brings. This made the choice of a colorful package essential. Our team found inspiration in nature’s deepest hues for a sophisticated palette of rich colors that offers depth and dimension.
2. Shape
Inspired by the French Fragrance Industry, CP opted for a clean cylindrical shape that not only creates uniformity on the shelf but also fits well in hand, uses less plastic, and is recyclable.
3. Iconography
From the evolution of the brand logo to the graphic components on the package, iconography is critical to the overall aesthetic and can also be functional. Our favorite feature: the debossed CP on the cap that doubles as a usage guide:
Short Hair: Use the size of the “C” on the cap
Medium Hair: Use the size of the “C+P” on the cap
Long Hair: Use size the full CP logo
4. Finishes
For finishes, the brand spared no expense, investing in brushed metallic caps and foil stamping for the logo for the elegant touch of ‘bling.’ The spot gloss varnish on matte material provides a subtle tone-on-tone effect creating depth and dimension.
